My Pregnancy journey- 1 of 2 week wait

1.6.17

Today is my 4 DPO. I don't feel very well so I just worked from home.

I have noticeable signs of heightened progesterone. I know it's too early to presume so I am not going to take these signs and symptoms as if it means anything except for hormonal changes. Some of these symptoms are as follow:
1) I had twinges on the right side of my abdomen. I may have missed to mention that it was my right ovary that had a matured follicle. So maybe, I can attribute this discomfort to the rupture of my follicle on the right side.
2) I had bouts of hot and cold flashes last night.
3) When I woke up today, I felt nauseous. I had peppermint tea and mango to ease the discomfort. I felt fine for a little while but still feel nauseous.
4) I feel so tired today. I actually feel asleep for an hour at lunch time. Glad I woke up just in time for my conference call.
5) My basal body temperature is very high today at 36.91 Celsius when it's -10 Celsius outside.

So, what could this be? I will just wait for this 2-week wait to pass. I felt similar symptoms before and ended up not getting pregnant. I will just take everything with a grain of salt. Anyway, I will have a 3D ultrasound tomorrow. Hopefully, there is nothing wrong and everything is progressing as expected.

Until tomorrow....

Professional Scrum Master

1.5.17

I recently took my Professional Scrum Master (PSM) certification. I passed but not the score I was targetting for but good enough to say I am scrum certified. My company was recently acquired and saw the need for this certification as the acquiring bank is on "Agile".

So, how did I do it? Here are the steps:
1)  I paid for the exam in Scrum.Org. Note- fee is in USD. This is my motivation to start reviewing as you only have 14 days to take the exam after paying for it.
2) I researched on online exams and blogs and read through it. I bookmarked the online exams on my phone and my computer and ensure that I take these exams before and after my reviews.
3) I printed out the Scrum Guide and bring it with me all the time. Memorized some concepts using mnemonics.
4) My friend gave me an old copy of his review guide from Mplaza and read it 3 times.
5) For 1 week, I reviewed, read and took the exams online with the aim of getting 100% in all exams.

So, in the weekend after my review, I took the exam. I was surprised how difficult some of the questions are as I did not read it in any of my review materials. I was happy that i passed!

As an advice for those who want to take this, read other books and materials as i don't think I studied well enough. Although I passed, i still feel the need to find the answers to the question I was unable to answer.

But, if you have money or the company can pay for an Agile training, another option is to take the Certified Scrum Training from Scrum Alliance. This is more well-known but more expensive. The passing rate for their exam is not as stringent as that of PSM but you need to attend a training for two days.

There are options for anything. Just look around and read from blogs and you'll find a treasure cove of certifications out there for everyone in the IT world.

My Daily Commute

1.4.17

It's officially my first day at work this year. It was quite a good drive compared to my daily 1.5 to 2 hours commute on my last work week last year. However, nothing has changed with how most people drive. I told myself that for this year, I will make use of my commute time taking photos of the plate nunber of cars with reckless drivers. Unfortunately, I managed to take a snap of 1 out 3 reckless drivers. I will not post it here yet but will collect them and see if it's statistically possible to identify frequency of these repeat offenders. I also aim to determine which road rule is not often followed and maybe, it's the rule that needs to be changed. Note though that I am not driving so it's going to be easy fro me to do this unless I fall  asleep.

Nothing significant happening on my tummy today except for some sharp right twinges.

Tomorrow again!

My Pregnancy Journey - start of 2WW

1.3.17

I just got back from the clinic and it was confirmed that I indeed ovulated yesterday. I had ovulation cramps yesterday as well so that pretty much sealed the deal. Blood test is looking good and I am just happy that my new RE is actually monitoring me closely (which I did not experience with my first RE). In the next week, I am scheduled to have a 3D ultrasound, progesterone test, pregnancy test and cycle review.  I was also asked to do several blood tests like glucose sugar, insulin and thyroid antibodies. I had several tests done as well like pct and amh which I will know the results during the cycle review. Hopefully, results are good.

I am technically now on my dreaded 2week wait. We did the baby dance morning and evening in the past 2 days. My Basal body temperature is up (36.48) but not too high (may be  I need to get new batteries as I have been using my bbt thermometer for the past 3 years. Wow! It's been that long since I started tracking my bbt. ) I will try to eat the pineapple core, brazilian nuts and stay warm to ensure this little cupcake sticks!

It's raining hard today but at least it's not that cold. No appointment tomorrow so will just chill out this week until my next appointment on 1.7.17.

My Pregnancy Journey

1.2.17

I am currently on my first cycle with my new RE. It's now my day 28th and had been advised to inject Ovidrel last 12.31.16 at 7pm. My single follicle on the right ovary has grown to 1.8mm and I had to induce my ovulation to ensure that it does not mature too much. Today, I visited the clinic and confirmed that I indeed ovulated and need to do the baby dance tonight. I had to come back again tomorrow to have another blood work and ultrasound confirmation. It seems to be looking good as per my RE so we will see tomorrow what happens next. (Photo credits from go28days.com).

One thing I observed in the clinic is the age range of women with similar fertility issues. It's very surprising that even a woman as young as 26 years old will need fertility assistance. Somebody needs to make a statistical studies of how many women are experiencing fertility issues and address the root cause of this. I am not sure if it's just me noticing this but I have my semi-conspiracy theory predicated on reality that Infertility knows no age boundary;

1) There must be something in the water or food that we consume that's causing these fertility issues (PCOS, endometriosis, Other reasons, etc...);
2) With the pregnancy pains that a woman has to go through, some just wanted an accurate number of children (twins, triplets, etc...) so they do not go through the same experience again. One time big time as they say it.

Anyway, for whatever reason, these Fertility clinics are helping lots of women like me make our dreams come true. Although I hear some ladies say that these Fertility Clinics are surely getting lots of profit out of women's issues, I'll know that for sure after this cycle.

More updates tomorrow.

After my long hiatus

I am back! I have been out and about trying to collect as many experiences as I can that I will share with you so you do not commit the same mistakes I did... Stay tuned...
